Eligibility
Foreign spouses of Sri Lankan citizens and their dependents are eligible for this visa.
Note: The Spouse Visa is issued only in Colombo by the Department of Immigration and Emigration.
Document Requirements
- Marriage certificate attested by a competent authority in Sri Lanka or abroad.
- Completed application form.
- Birth certificate of the Sri Lankan spouse; if citizen by registration, a copy of citizenship certificate.
- Passport or National Identity Card of the Sri Lankan spouse.
- If divorced, a divorce decree; if spouse deceased, death certificate.
- Consent letter from the Sri Lankan spouse.
- Applicable government visa fee.
For children (if not Sri Lankan citizens):
- Birth certificates of children.
- Passports of the applicants.
Application Procedure
- Obtain Entry Visa approval from the Department of Immigration in Colombo.
- Collect Entry Visa endorsement from the nearest Sri Lanka Diplomatic Mission.
- Travel to Sri Lanka and obtain Spouse Visa endorsement on the passport from the Department of Immigration in Colombo.
